Context
A Re-visioned Profile
In 2010, the Jesuit Secondary Education Association met to revise the Profile of the Graduate at Graduation. In the re-visioning, the Profile retained its five characteristics (Open to Growth, Intellectually Competent, Religious, Loving, and Committed to Doing Justice), but new descriptors were added relating to essential areas such as technology, wellness, sustainability, leadership, and Ignatian spirituality. While these descriptors can be helpful, they are only “a broad template that each school needs to adapt and tailor by its own careful reflection on its own experience.”

Opportunities for RCHS
Red Cloud High School, as a JSEA member, will adapt and tailor the Profile of the Graduate at Graduation to fit its own unique context and and experience. Adapting the characteristics of the Profile offers RCHS two significant opportunities.

Plan of Action
Red Cloud High School will engage in adapting and tailoring the Profile of a Graduate at Graduation to fit its particular context and experience though an adaptation process involving all members of the school community. Faculty and staff will complete the first round of adaptations and then students and parents will have the opportunity review and suggest revisions to the Profile before a final draft is approved.
